Subcommittees
Common Terms Applying to All Subcommittees
The Club Committee may establish subcommittees to support the effective governance, administration and development of the Club. Subcommittees allow the Club to draw on the experience, skills and interests of members who may not wish to serve on the Committee but are willing to contribute to the Club’s work.
Each subcommittee is part of our Governance Framework and operates under the authority of the Club Committee and is accountable to it. Subcommittees may make recommendations, undertake agreed work and implement tasks delegated by the Committee. Unless specifically authorised, subcommittees do not have independent decision-making authority or any matter of contractual commitment.
Each subcommittee will have a nominated convenor or contact person, maintain brief notes of meetings or decisions, and report regularly to the Club Committee. Any proposed expenditure must be within an approved budget or separately authorised by the Committee.
Subcommittee members are expected to act in the best interests of the Club, respect confidentiality where required, declare any conflicts of interest, and comply with the Club’s Constitution, Codes of Conduct, policies and procedures.
The composition and terms of reference of each subcommittee should be reviewed periodically by the Club Committee.
