The Catering & Social Events Subcommittee helps make the Club a welcoming, sociable and enjoyable place to belong.
The subcommittee supports the Club’s regular social programme, including Friday afternoon social drinks after bridge, monthly Sunday social social event 700.fwtournaments, casual social evenings such as burger and pizza nights, the mid-winter dinner in June, and the summer Christmas dinner in December.
Its role is to help plan and coordinate catering, hospitality, volunteers and practical arrangements for approved Club events. The subcommittee works with the Committee, Tournament Secretary and other Club roles to ensure events are well organised, affordable and enjoyable.
The Club is licensed to serve alcohol, and any event involving alcohol must be managed responsibly and in accordance with the Club’s licence conditions and relevant legal requirements. Non-alcoholic options should also be available.
The aim is to provide friendly, well-run social occasions that strengthen member connection, encourage participation and reflect the welcoming character of the Club.
