The Scoring System & IT Subcommittee supports the technology that helps the Club run bridge sessions smoothly, maintain accurate Club records, and publish results reliably.
The Club uses Bridge NZ Scorer as both a scoring and club management system. It holds member information as well as historic scores, rankings, handicaps and other playing records. The Club also uses Lenovo tablets running Bridgetab software for scoring at the tables.
The subcommittee helps maintain these systems, supports directors and scorers, assists with routine troubleshooting, and recommends improvements where needed.
Its role includes helping ensure that equipment is ready for play, software is maintained, scoring and results processes are documented, and more than one person has the knowledge needed to keep the systems operating.
Because these systems hold important Club and member information, all scoring and IT activity must be consistent with the Club’s Privacy Policy, Data Management Policy and Member Database Policy. This means using approved systems, protecting member and scoring information, limiting access to those who need it for Club purposes, and reporting any data or security concerns promptly.
The aim is to provide reliable, well-supported and secure systems that allow members to focus on enjoying their bridge.
