Disputes PanelThe Disputes Panel is convened when required to support the fair, respectful and confidential handling of formal complaints, conflicts or disciplinary matters.
Many issues arising during play should first be dealt with at the table by calling the Director. Other concerns may be resolved through discussion, Director peer support, or referral through contact with the Club’s Committee. Where a matter becomes a formal written complaint, it may be referred to a Disputes Panel in accordance with the Club’s Constitution, Conflict & Complaints Policy and Conflict & Complaints Procedure.
A Panel is not a standing group of fixed members. It is convened for the particular matter under consideration. When a Panel is formed, care is taken to appoint people who can act fairly and who do not have a conflict of interest or close personal involvement in the matter.
The Panel’s role is to consider referred matters fairly, listen to relevant parties, review available information, and make findings or recommendations in line with the Club’s approved procedures.
The Panel does not replace the Director, the Committee, NZ Bridge processes, or the Club’s formal policies. It exists to ensure that serious or unresolved matters are handled carefully, consistently and with respect for all involved.
All complaints and disputes are expected to be raised and managed respectfully, confidentially and in good faith.
Continued membership of the Club is dependent upon compliance and support of these procedures.
