The Outreach & Support Subcommittee helps the Club maintain a welcoming, inclusive and caring environment for members.
The subcommittee supports member connection by welcoming new members, encouraging participation, and helping the Club respond appropriately when members are unwell, bereaved, absent from Club activities, or otherwise in circumstances where a thoughtful Club response may be appreciated.
The Club recognises that many personal matters are private. Illness, hospitalisation and family circumstances will not be shared more widely unless the member, or an appropriate family member or representative, has agreed. The Club also recognises that members have different preferences. Some members welcome contact. Others prefer no fuss, no visitors or no contact from the Committee. Those wishes will be respected.
Cards, visits and other forms of Club contact are not automatic. They are arranged only where appropriate, where the member’s wishes are known, and where privacy can be protected. If a member asks for no contact from the Committee, this will mean no contact from the Committee or from the Outreach & Support Subcommittee on the Committee’s behalf, unless the member later changes that instruction.
To ensure fairness and consistency, the Club follows an agreed process for outreach and support. Members who know of someone who may appreciate contact from the Club are encouraged to speak confidentially with the Outreach & Support Subcommittee.
