Quick Tricks are more important than your high card points. Let’s say partner opens 3S and you have a good hand:
You are in 3NT. The Jack of spades is led.
The bidding has gone Pass - Pass – Pass, so it’s now up to you whether or not this board gets passed in. You have a marginal, will I or won’t I? sort of hand.
